Deploy ILO user configuration on HP BLADES

To deploy user configuration to newly installed blades in a HP Bladesystem C700, just ssh the active onboard administrator and then run the following commands to add ILO account:

Hponcfg 1-16 << end_

<RIBCL VERSION="2.0">

<LOGIN USER_LOGIN="username" PASSWORD="anything">

<USER_INFO MODE="write">

<ADD_USER

USER_NAME="admin"

USER_LOGIN="admin"

PASSWORD="password">

<ADMIN_PRIV value ="Yes"/>

<REMOTE_CONS_PRIV value ="Yes"/>

<RESET_SERVER_PRIV value ="Yes"/>

<VIRTUAL_MEDIA_PRIV value ="Yes"/>

<CONFIG_ILO_PRIV value="Yes"/>

</ADD_USER>

</USER_INFO>

</LOGIN>

</RIBCL>

end_

Doing so will push user configuration to all connected blades on the rack in a very quick way.

  1. How to dynamically assign value using python? For example. subprocess.call("./hponcfg -f iloconfig.xml ipconfig=dynamicvalue",shell=True)
